“In 1997, my high school social studies teacher required that we shadow someone who held a profession that was interesting to us. I had no idea what I wanted to be, but decided to shadow an acupuncturist for a day. I remember very little about that day, in truth, but I do reflect back on the irony or perhaps synchronicity of that choice. In my early 20’s I developed some complicated health issues. I tried many avenues to unearth what was wrong. After months with little improvement, I ended up in another acupuncture office, this time not as an observer but as a patient.
The experience was truly life altering. I left the first appointment with a renewed sense of hope. What I noticed as I reentered the world that day was that I felt more like the best version of myself. With continued acupuncture and also the nutrition and lifestyle counseling that Five Element Acupuncture provides, I was able to resume my healthy pain free life. Knowing the impact of this type of treatment so personally inspired me to become an acupuncturist. Now I love helping others feel like the best versions of themselves!”
